East Meck’s second-year IB students were reportedly stunned this week as teachers across all subjects announced that their IA due dates would be scheduled for the same day: exactly one week from now. 

Although many teachers acknowledged this created a “difficult situation,” they were unwavering in their commitment to the schedule.

“Unfortunately, it’s out of our hands at this moment,” said Mr. John Lipton, of the English department. “Part of the fundamentals of the IB program worldwide involve driving students to the brink of total mental breakdown. Please consult the syllabus.”

Students were reportedly seen scrambling to put together achievable personal deadlines, such as setting checkpoints to write 2 or 3 pages every five minutes, or putting on helpful background videos.
